We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination of all practices for the PT department. This will include all compliance and regulatory related issues, daily operations and related workflow projects to enhance clinical programs, development of new PT therapy inpatient programs and customer satisfaction with operations. This position will also be responsible in conjunction with the site director of the department to work with PT and clinical leadership (supervisors) to ensure that appropriate levels of clinical development and productivity occur throughout the entire PT department. Clinical direction will be supported by the Director of the PT department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Reviews and assists with preparation of reports and interpretation of statistical data for effective use, assistance with preparation of budgetary planning when requested, and overall departmental decision making.
Responsible for all time keeping and payroll processes for the physical therapy full time and per diem staff.
Assists IP units and PT/OT department in maintaining compliance in all regulatory requirements including CARF, JACHO and DOH.
Exhibits ancillary PT leadership in regards to other department initiatives including student program, department research, and representation of necessary leadership in the absence of the site director.
Exhibits a high level of initiation in regards to program development and performance improvement projects for the inpatient PT.
Displays and exhibits appropriate levels of positive communication in regards to staff and colleagues in order to reinforce individual growth among staff and colleagues.
Regulatory Compliance / Quality Assurance: Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations for inpatient and outpatient PT.
Works with the site director on optimal staff utilization in conjunction with Hospital Labor Productivity Processes.
Staff Productivity/Operating Budget: Assists in the control of PT hospital costs by seeking the most effective and efficient mechanisms of performing functions. Monitors accuracy of charge entries and creates appropriate mechanisms for use of support staff for ancillary IP duties.
Produces the necessary IP quantative data i.e. volumes of visits, staff productivity, patient satisfaction and performs effective, objective and detailed analysis for effective use and decision making. Able to summarize this information into a tangible format to assist management team in decision making.
Management and supervision of all clinical and support staff in all inpatient programs. Policy and Procedure Development: Develops and implements new IP policies and procedures related to compliance changes or organizational-program changes to support the areas of patient and staff satisfaction and annual outpatient revenue projections. Able to implement appropriate corrective action for noncompliance
Plans, develops, organizes and monitors all inpatient PT. Responsible for hiring and promoting staff in collaboration with different levels of PT leadership. Engages candidates in purposeful and valuable dialogue during interview process. Orients and instructs new staff in the organization, procedures, and protocols
Masters degree in PT with current New York State license, registration, or certificate appropriate to profession. Minimum of seven (7) years experience in a rehabilitation setting, including a minimum of 7-8 years of supervisory or administrative experience. Strong background in Clinical program operations and program development. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential secondary to significant interactions with department administrators, physicians and clinical staff.
Membership in professional organization. Involvement in continuing education courses related to the delivery of service in PT department and issues of regulations. Maintain clinical excellence in preferred area.
