In the massage therapy field, positions are continuing to grow more and more. A lot of people are learning about the benefits of getting massages, so there will be a steady increase in demand for massage therapists.

In this field, the therapist is required to help speed recovery with the use of massages in hospitals, spas and other places. The massages are done to reduce pain, elevate mood, and treat muscle soreness and sports injuries. The massage therapy field isn't for everyone; it takes special skills and mindset. You will have to be good with people and know how to put your clients at ease. You will also have to be genuinely concerned about their well-being. If this sounds like you, this could be the right career path to take.

Instructions

Step One: There are about 1,500 massage therapist schools in the United States. You can search around online for schools in your area, or by looking at the Web site www.amtamassage.org, this is the American Massage Therapy Association.

Step Two: Next, you will need to decide which of the massage therapy schools you would like to attend. Are you willing to spend more money (couple thousand) to earn a basic massage therapy license? You will need the license to be able to practice. It will also help to protect you against angry clients who are trying to sue you, by ensuring that you know what you are doing.

Step Three: It can take about several months or up to a year for you to complete a course in message therapy. Some classes are offered at night, if you work and need to make money to pay for classes.

Step Four: After you have obtained your license, you will be able to begin working at a variety of places, or you can start your own business.
