Finding a job in today's struggling job market and economy can be a difficult process and one that takes lot of time. Conducting a job search by industry can yield better results when searching for your specific job. One growing job industry is the physical therapy industry. Physical therapy experts are needed on a daily basis to help patients recover from sports injuries, work related injuries, injuries from fighting overseas and injuries suffered in home and car accidents.

Physical therapists perform their work at doctor's offices, hospitals, at patient's homes, nursing homes and in their own offices. Physical therapy is a profession that has grown in not only need but also popularity among students still in college. Many students head to college not realizing what they want to do with their life but once they get there they become interested in physical therapy because of its rewards and the possibility of working in professional sports. Searching for the best jobs in the physical therapy industry can be a difficult process but if performed right, it does not have to be that difficult a process.

Begin your job search while still in school. Start around February or March, way before you are scheduled to graduate. Looking for a job before graduation can net some serious offers for you to weigh during your final weeks in school. Waiting until graduation will leave you behind the rest of the pack and more than likely jobless for a couple of months following the completion of your academic career. Jobs in the industry of physical therapy are easy to find via a search on the Internet. Log on to your favorite search engine and type in the term physical therapy jobs. Thousands of results will appear and you can begin sifting through the results.

Once you begin to sift through all the results, start to narrow down your choices. Look at the companies that are currently in need of a physical therapist and tailor your cover letter to that company as well as your resume. Make sure every resume you submit is tailored accordingly to each different place of employment. Once you submit your resume to the companies you are looking for employment, it is now time to play the waiting game. Sit back and hope that someone will contact you for an interview.

Most companies do not allow phone calls regarding their employment process but making a call here or there might not be too bad of an idea. Call the company a week after you submit your resume to make sure that they received it and check to see if anyone has looked over it. This phone call, if you speak to the right person, will be able to give you a fair idea on the whereabouts of your application. Don't place calls to the same company each week. They will begin to get annoyed with you and will more than likely not review your resume.

Some of the best physical therapy jobs in this industry are ones working with athletes at the collegiate and professional level. If you can get onboard with a collegiate or professional team as the team's physical therapist, you will have the benefit of traveling around with the team. Physical therapists for athletes are just as important as team doctors and athletic trainers, so traveling with the team is always offered. If a player is injured on the field and needs a therapist immediately, there you are. Before you begin thinking about opening up your own practice, pursue a job with a sports team.

If working with sports personalities is not your thing then working at a practice or in a hospital are two other options for finding jobs in the industry. Working at a practice will bring you experience with a variety of different people. You will meet senior citizens, children, and middle-aged patients. This will give you an opportunity to learn different aspects of business. Not working with sports figures will also help you realize the different injuries that people can suffer from not relating to sports. Some of those injuries can occur at home, at the workplace, while at war and car accidents.

Physical therapists are needed throughout the business for all ages and injuries. Children can suffer injuries almost anywhere, especially at school in gym class or playgrounds while playing during break. Senior citizens have brittle bones as they age, which can lead to falls and injuries while at home, which might need a physical therapist to help heal.

Jobs in the industry can be very rewarding and lucrative in more ways than money. Helping people heal and learn how to use their limbs again can make anyone feel great about their lives and their purpose in life. Working as a physical therapist takes time and energy when searching for that perfect job but it pays off in the end.
