Physical Therapy Sports Jobs
Sports therapy is the care and management of injured sportspersons to help them to return to their full functionality. The various functions of a sports therapist is to examine and treat injuries, provide first aid, minimize pain, give sports massages, design exercise programs and rehabilitate injuries through various techniques and apparatus. It is also the duty of a sports therapist to utilize exercise and sports principles in a manner that maximizes performance and minimizes injuries. A sports therapist may also provide additional services to athletes like weight management, weight loss, sports specific conditioning etc. The main clients of a sports therapist are amateur sportspeople, professional athletes and sportspersons, fitness conscious people and accident victims.
Minimum qualification required for a sports therapist job is a bachelor’s degree from an accredited physical therapy institute, with emphasis on sports therapy. The sports job applicant should pass the licensure exam and hold valid license. Integrity, professionalism and commitment are the other qualities exhibited by a successful sports therapist.
