Pediatric Physical Therapist Jobs
Pediatric physical therapists are involved in the diagnosis and treatment of infants and children suffering from developmental delays, cerebral palsy, congenital problems, skeletal problems, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and orthopedic conditions. It is the responsibility of a pediatric physical therapy specialist to help the child patient to improve motor skills, strength, coordination, and balance.
A pediatric physical therapist provides effective therapy programs to children with special needs in order to help them reach their maximum level of functioning and increase independence, while living with their limited capabilities. It is a pediatric physical therapist’s job to help restore basic living skills of the child patient following physical disability, disease or accident. A pediatric physical therapist achieves his goals mainly through exercise and play.
A pediatric physical therapist job applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from an accredited college or university. Pediatric experience is an added bonus.
A pediatric physical therapist must hold all necessary licenses and certificates.
